Reporting Malware and Phishing
GoDaddy takes any abuse of our services very seriously. If you identify a website that hosts any abusive content (knowingly or not), such as distributing malware or hosting phishing sites, we urge you to report it to us at our Abuse Report Center.
Because there are many types of abuse, use the information below to make sure you send us the correct type of report.
What is malware?
Malware is short of "malicious software." Report malware to us if you find a website distributing a virus, keylogger, or any other type of software that harms or compromises the security of visitors' computers.
Additionally, if you would like to report hacking or cracking, please select the hacking or cracking option listed on the Malware tab.
What is phishing?
Phishing describes emails and websites hackers user to impersonate businesses. By impersonating a legitimate, trustworthy business site, they hope to trick visitors into providing them sensitive information like logins or credit card numbers. We have more information in this article.
What if the website's not hosted or registered through you?
You should always report abusive sites to the company hosting the content.
The easiest way to determine who's hosting the site is to do an "nslookup" at a site like kloth.net — copy down the IP address that displays.
Now, do a WHOIS lookup on the IP address at arin.net.
Use the link arin.net provides to contact the owner of the IP address to report the abusive content.
